CanInuit is an annotated source of information about the magazines, journals, newspapers and newsletters of Canada's Inuit communities. Most entries in the CanInuit database reference periodical publications which deal predominently with Canadian Inuit and their communities. Other entries describe library catalogues, art catalogues, indexes & abstracts, and bibliographies, that are sources of information about Canadian Inuit periodicals.
2020
The CanInuit website was updated in 2020 and migrated to the Omeka.net platform. Send us your comments. Take a short survey.
2011
In 2011, a printed bibliography was published with support from IPY project funding: A Bibliography of Canadian Inuit Periodicals. Quebec: Presses de l'Université du Québec. 2011.
2009-2010
The Caninuit website was updated in 2009/2010 with support from 'Entendre et communiquer les voix du Nunavik / Hearing and sharing the voices of Nunavik : Projet de mise en valeur du patrimoine écrit du Nunavik', International Polar Year Grant, Programme du Gouvernement du Canada.
2007-2020
The Caninuit database was hosted by Reference Press, an independent publisher of reference materials and software for use in school and public libraries. The Caninuit search engine (developed by Reference Press) is Open Url compliant.
