This exhibition provides a temporal view of Inuit periodical publications published in a selected village or hamlet from each of the four regions of Inuit Nunangat: Nain in Nunatsiavut, Kuujjuaq in Nunavik, Arviat in Nunavut, Inuvik in Inuvialuit.

Within the pages of many Canadian Inuit periodicals, you will find the early prose of Inuit authors. This exhibition contains the titles of the magazines and newspapers that contain stories, legends, poems and essays from Inuit authors.

The publications are arranged chronological by the date each began publishing.

There are five timelines for each publication type: Journal, Magazine, Newspaper, Newsletter and Art Catalogue and four timelines for each publication location: Inuvialuit, Nunavut, Nunavik and Nunatsiavut.

There is also a timeline for the publications that contain the beginnings of Inuit literature.
