Abstract
This newsletter updates the members of the Committee for Original Peoples Entitlement (COPE), an association created in 1970 to represent the interest of the Inuvialuit, the indigenous peoples in the Western Arctic. Territories. COPE provided a unified voice and worked to promote rights, opportunities and social progress and negotiated the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (1984) with the Canadian federal government. COPE closed in 1988 when the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation was created.
