Atuaqnik

Makivik Corporation initially provided the funding for this independent newspaper serving the Inuit of Northern Quebec. Thirteen issues were published and covered current topics, politics, and cultural subjects. Editorials and letters to the editors provide an independent view of events. The inability to retain its journalists and editorial staff and increased administrative work caused this newspaper to publish its final issue in June/July 1980.
